Investigators in Russia are treated in two ways: some consider them to be advocates of society, while others, on the contrary, claim that they are worthless. If you want to get this profession, remember that investigators need to be able to easily start a dialogue with any people, since they have to deal with people from all walks of life.

According to the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation, the investigator is a participant in the criminal proceedings, representing the prosecution. It is in the investigator's competence to initiate criminal cases and further work with them. To become an investigator, you need to get a higher education at a university of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

During the training, you will have to complete an internship in the investigation department, and if you prove yourself to be the best, you will be waited in this police unit after receiving a diploma. In some cases, especially distinguished students are hired by the police immediately after completing practice. The only drawback of this method is that you will have to combine annual offsets and permanent business trips. Once every 12 months, you will have to undergo verification for physical training, hand-to-hand combat skills, as well as firing from personal service weapons.

To enter the higher educational institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs you will need to pass the exam in Russian, mathematics, history, social studies and a foreign language. At the moment, the most famous Russian university training investigators is the Academy of Economic Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, located in Moscow. If you are not officially registered in the capital, the university may provide you with a hostel for the period of study.

When choosing a university, be sure to pay attention to the Academy of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, which is training investigators and special services. Despite the fact that enrolling in the AFSB is quite difficult, you should try to become a student of this university, since the quality of education here is quite high. After graduating from this university, you have the right to work not only as an investigator in the police department, but also in more prestigious positions in the FSB of Russia.

If you do not want to move to the capital to study, the best option for you may be the branches of the Moscow Finance and Law Academy, located in many cities of Russia. This university provides a small number of budget places, so be prepared for the fact that you have to pay for your studies. After receiving a bachelor’s diploma, you have the right to continue your studies and defend a master's thesis.
