At the heart of the fatal fall of the colossus of Russian literature is a banal love story directly related to female beauty. The frivolous, but very attractive Natalya Nikolaevna, the wife of the dearest Alexander Sergeyevich, made a furor at the imperial court with her appearance, which attracted increased attention to her person, French nobleman Georges Dantes. In those days, Dantes tried to make a military career in the Russian army. An affair quietly ensued, and the poet had to challenge a French citizen to a duel, in which Pushkin was mortally wounded in the lower abdomen.

The wounded poet, who was in a severe shock state and received severe hypothermia for more than an hour, was taken in a sitting position for 7.5 versts to his apartment on the Moika. During the journey, he was very tormented by pains in the pelvic area and complained of nausea, sometimes losing consciousness.
