How to enter the Moscow Art Theater School

The Moscow Art Theater School is one of the most prestigious universities in the country, in which many famous Soviet and Russian actors studied. Teaching in it is based on the Stanislavsky system, classes are taught by the best masters of the Art Theater, so there is a very high competition and high requirements for applicants. To enter this school, you must have undeniable talent.

For admission to the Moscow Art Theater, you must have a secondary full general or professional education. Collect all the documents: passport, copy of military ID, copy of registered certificate, certificate of graduation from school or college. Take six 3x4 photos. Documents are filed in Kamergersky Lane in Moscow.

Pass the exam in Russian and literature, which is held during the final exams at school. Bring the certificate of the exam results along with other documents. If you graduated from school before 2009, then it is not necessary to have the exam results - you can take the usual exam. The same applies to applicants with specialized secondary education in the theater field.

Pass three qualifying rounds, they are held from May 16 to June 28. Take only your passport with you. You do not need to sign up for participation, just select any day convenient for you. Prepare your program - pick up poems, fables, excerpts from works. Rehearse your performance several times. If you successfully complete all the rounds, you will be admitted to the entrance exams. By the end of June, submit the collected documents to the selection committee.

Find out the schedule of exams for your specialty, prepare for them. So, future actors need to read a literary work by heart, perform any song (the musician of the applicant is checked), a dance or other exercise to show plasticity. Practice your diction before the exam, perform exercises to develop voice, as speech therapists and phoniatrist will check the speech. Scriptwriters will need to write creative work. Usually the first exam takes place on July 1.

Exam results announced in July. If you have arrived, bring the originals of all documents to the selection committee. If you could not pass the entrance exams, you have a chance to enter the Moscow Art Theater on a paid basis. In this case, you need to contact the selection committee. Please note that scholarships are not paid to students on a paid basis. Applicants with higher education, study only for a fee.
