How to enter St. Petersburg State University

St. Petersburg University, or St. Petersburg State University, is one of the most famous higher educational institutions in the country. Entering there may not be easy due to the high competition, but at the same time it is quite possible for purposeful people even from remote regions.

If you are in grades 8-10, try transferring to a university gymnasium. There you will receive not only general secondary education, but also special training in specialized disciplines: mathematics, physics, geography, biology, chemistry. To go to the gymnasium, you need to pass exams in specialized subjects and the Russian language.

Take part in the St. Petersburg State University Olympiad. It is held for graduate students. First you need to go through the qualifying stage before January 31 of the current year, and then the main stage, which ends on March 31. Pupils living outside St. Petersburg and the region can be selected based on the results of the correspondence qualifying round. At the final stage, they can come to St. Petersburg or the city nearest to them, where the away stage of the Olympiad is held. Residents of Ukraine, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan also have the opportunity to take part. In addition to this Olympiad, the university accepts the results of other competitions, for example, the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren.

Enter the university according to the results of the exam. To do this, go to the university's website in the section for applicants and find out what exams must be passed for a successful admission. Get the maximum score. Then, after receiving the results and the certificate of passing the exam, submit an application for admission to St. Petersburg State University, either in person, having come to the selection committee in St. Petersburg, or through the website. Do not forget to attach a certificate of benefits to all documents, if you have any. This may be, for example, a disability certificate. If you enter the department of journalism, acting, painting or restoration, you will need to pass additional profile exams.

At the end of July or the beginning of August, go to the university’s website and find out if you go to college with your points. If the grades are high enough, send the originals of your documents to the university if you have not done so earlier. If you didn’t make it to the main list, do not rush to be upset - the desired place may be released into the second wave of enrollment. It happens that the past applicant decides to leave to study in another place.
