Work as a train conductor has always been associated with romance. The opportunity to travel half the country attracts not only students who want to earn extra money during the summer holidays, but also those for whom the road is a vocation. You can master a new profession in a matter of months.

Find out about the opportunity to receive training on a railway carriage conductor at the local branch of Russian Railways, in the personnel department of the passenger depot. You can get this profession in specialized educational institutions (colleges, technical schools, schools) or in short-term courses for conductors organized at railway universities or colleges. In vocational schools, the profession will take 9-10 months. Courses, depending on the curriculum, can last 1-3 months. Men and women from 18 to 45 years old with secondary education are accepted for training. But it is better to clarify the conditions directly upon admission. In most cases, future guides are trained for free.

Sign up for a preliminary interview. For admission to the courses, no exams are required, but it is important to make a good impression on the commission for receiving documents. The future guide should give the impression of a balanced, responsible and accurate person. Go through the medical commission and hand over all the necessary documents. The conductor must be in good health and stress resistant. Really approach the assessment of their own health.

After studying the theoretical part, you will have to get acquainted in practice with the device of the car, the duties of a guide, and then pass the exams, after which you will be allowed directly to work. Take an internship on a trip with a guide. Before the internship, issue a health book, go through all the necessary doctors. After successfully completing the practice, you will be given a certificate of a conductor of a railway carriage of the 3rd category. As a rule, they provide assistance in guiding courses for job placement (both temporary and permanent).

With a certificate of a conductor, you can contact any branch of Russian Railways and find out about the availability of vacancies. After completing continuing education courses two years later, increase your rank to 4th, which will give you the right to ride on branded trains and have a positive effect on wages.
