How to learn Italian yourself

With good motivation (read: much desire), the Italian language can be learned at home. It is distinguished by the ease of pronunciation, which is very beneficial for home schooling. The only minus in this is that the “human” factor affects - sometimes it’s difficult to force yourself to systematically engage. But on the other hand, there are much wider technical capabilities that can be used in training - a computer, disks, the Internet. So arm yourself and start the Italian language!

Allow yourself daily training time, an hour and a half. Schedule your classes a week in advance and relate all other things to it. In order not to forget about the lessons in a series of household chores, use reminders, a scheduler on your computer, arrange a schedule so that by the time you have all the tasks done. Prepare yourself a comfortable workplace in which you will not be distracted.

Get any Italian textbook or tutorial. The difference between them will consist only in the form of presentation of the material - in some textbooks it is more interesting or more modern, in some the material will be drier. Beforehand, if possible, familiarize yourself with it, in what form the information is given, and what explanations and exercises are used. But, by and large, with any textbook you will have to do the same repetitive actions - study the rules, grammar, perform exercises to fix them and learn words. So do not waste a lot of time on this. Set yourself short-term goals. For example, to learn 50 - 100 lexical units per week. This will help to track small successes and maintain motivation, a sense of self-satisfaction, and will not depend on the brightness of book illustrations.

As you progress in skills, read literature in Italian. Start with simple and short tales. First use bilingual texts with parallel Russian translation. Gradually, training in reading and memorizing words, you will cease to pay attention to the Russian translation, and the need for it will disappear.

Use online lessons on the Internet. Meet Italians by interests. Visit Italian Internet resources, take an interest in what is happening in the country, read the news. Receiving information in the language being studied from all sides, the brain quickly and easily adapts to the language, this simulates the situation of "immersion" when mastering the language is faster.
