Making presentations is one of the types of public activities involving the demonstration and description of an idea. The need to make a presentation may be related to professional or educational activities. And in that, and in another case, it is recommended to use the general rules for holding such performances in order to avoid mistakes and gain success.

Instruction manual

one

Spend enough time preparing your presentation. First of all, create a plan that should begin with the presentation of your person and the topic of the presentation. The plan should resemble the table of contents in a book. Compose your speech: start with an introduction, talking about the purpose and relevance of the problem, in the main part concentrate on the main idea, its advantages, characteristics and features, summarize in the end, emphasize once again several important points. The main thing in the presentation is not what to say, but how. Having highlighted important ideas, you must ensure that they sound understandable, simple, clear and at the same time interesting. You can repeat the important idea several times during the speech so that everyone can catch the message.

2

Properly prepare the slides. Remember that they should only illustrate your story, but not describe everything for you. Do not insert a lot of text into the slides, they carry only visual information for a better perception. First of all, your presentation should be an interesting narration with the correct intonation and expressive gestures. Even interesting pictures fade before a monotonous, inexpressive speech. Instead of text on slides, pay attention to the correct selection of images, try to make the slides as best as possible illustrate your presentation, clearly demonstrate your idea. Make out your slides nicely using a gradient background and a medium-sized font. Do not insert large tables and tiered lists.

3

Adapt the content to the audience - use only those terms that the audience understands, and if you have to talk about something new, then explain the meanings in detail so that there is no doubt about your knowledge. You can put a little humor into the story so that the presentation is not tiring.

4

Presentation, as a rule, lasts one hour, including technical problems and equipment setup, answers to listeners' questions and the story itself. The narrative should last no more than twenty minutes in which to put all the points and main thoughts of your presentation. Rehearse the presentation several times.

5

When giving a presentation, do not rush or hesitate. Speak clearly, clearly and measuredly. Watch your intonation, emphasize important details, do not forget about pauses. Do not read your report, look at the audience and do not turn your back on it. It is not recommended to lean on a table or chair. You can move around the room to make closer contact with listeners. But do not go constantly from side to side, this can only distract them.

6

At the end of the presentation, present the audience with colorful booklets or presentation disks to confirm your words and leave something to remember. This increases your chances of success.

note

Foresee all the surprises - the program may not start, the projector will not show the image, the computer may freeze. Make a copy of the presentation, transfer it to other formats, find a spare laptop or projector.
