Despite the fact that military service is not very popular right now, Suvorov military schools working in different cities of Russia and preparing the future officer elite are still popular. And getting into them is quite difficult: the competition is at least 3-4 people per seat, the selection of applicants is very strict, and the admission procedure itself is not the easiest. What must be done to enter the Suvorov School?

The first requirement is age. Since 2008, a gradual transition to a seven-year study period has begun in all Suvorov schools of the country, and the age limits for applicants have changed every year, which pretty confused the applicants. Since 2011, students who have graduated from the 4th grade of a comprehensive school have been admitted to schools.

The first stage of receipt is, in fact, a competition of documents. A set of papers in order to get to the Suvorov School requires a solid one - the list contains a copy of the personal file from the school, a psychologist’s report, and a copy of the outpatient card. The full list can be found on the school website. In order to properly draw up all the necessary documents for admission, you can contact the draft board at the place of residence. Papers must be submitted before June 1.

All documents are considered by the selection committee, and those candidates who are considered "suitable" in all respects (health status, educational level, age, etc.) receive an invitation to entrance exams.

4

Tests are held in the first half of July. Potential Suvorovites must demonstrate their physical fitness (as a result, a decision is made whether the applicant is “suitable” or “unsuitable”) and psychological readiness for training (psychological and psychophysiological examination). In addition, Suvorovites need to know mathematics and the Russian language - tests in general subjects are also included in the program.

5

Based on the results of entrance exams, each candidate is given a single mark (points). By the way, when scoring points, the child’s sports, creative or social achievements are also taken into account, therefore diplomas of participation in competitions and contests will increase the chances of admission.

6

The final lists of candidates are as follows: first, children who are eligible for preferential admission are enrolled (these are orphans, as well as children of certain categories of military personnel, including former), and then to applicants who score the most points.

7

With parents (or guardians) of Suvorov residents, a written agreement is signed upon admission to the school, which describes in detail all the conditions of study, as well as the rights and obligations of the parties.
