How to teach a child to read correctly

Not all parents use the amazing ability of children to grasp everything on the fly. But you can start reading instruction very early. Only in this case it is worth moving away from stereotypes. The most important stereotype is to start with the alphabet. There is nothing more difficult for a child than to understand abstract letters. You can try it differently.

An effective way to teach reading, which you will see later, is based on the use of two skills of the child: to understand what he hears and sees. The addition of these skills gives an amazing result.

So, first you need to prepare the necessary materials. Cut strips 10 cm high and 50 cm long. You will write words on them. The height of one letter should be at least 7.5 cm and a width of 1.5 cm. The letter should be printed, written very thick with a red felt-tip pen. Leave the words 1.5 cm from the edges. For these empty sections you will hold cards. You can print individual letters on a computer, it is important that the conditions are met and there is always one font. Over time, the font will decrease, and replace the red letters with black ones.

The sequence of training according to this technique is as follows: first you show individual words, then phrases, from them go to simple sentences, then to more common ones and, as a result, read books.

At the first stage, these will be the words closest to the child, such as “mom”, “dad” and other words to which the child already has an emotional attitude. The situation for classes should be calm, the time of day - when the child has a lot of strength and a good mood. Show the card for 1 second, clearly pronounce the meaning of the word, without explaining anything, show another card. Explain nothing: card is meaning, card is meaning. Having shown 5 words, hug the baby, in a word show that he is in the center of your attention. Repeat the procedure 3 times during the day. Thus, you should have 15 cards for 1 day. On the second day - 6 lessons of 5 cards, on the third - 9 lessons. Repeating the same set of 15 words, adding 5 more to them. Bring this amount to 25 over time. Gradually include in the set of words the designations of body parts, household items. The main thing is that the baby understands these words. Never let him get bored: do not keep the words longer than a second and do not repeat the same set of words day after day. Add 5 new words each, removing the old ones. Increase the number of words 1 time, add verbs and adjectives (color notation) to nouns, bringing its vocabulary to 50 words. After that, proceed to the second stage.

At the next stage, you are already showing phrases from those words that the child learned, for example, “mom is jumping” or “red apple”. Then go to the antonyms: Big-small, thin-fat. It is advisable to accompany the words with pictures.

The next stage is the assimilation of simple sentences: mom eats, dad reads. These offers can be issued in a photo album with the participation of people familiar to him.

This stage follows from the previous one, only new words are added, for example: mother eats an apple, mother eats a red apple.

And the last stage is a book. It should contain text from 50 to 100 words in a font of 1 cm or more, pictures should follow the text, and not before it. Sit with your child and read the text clearly. Do this 2-3 times a day.

The fourth stage follows from the previous one, only new words are added, for example: mother eats an apple, mother eats a red apple.

You can understand when to go to the next stage when the child begins to recognize words, then phrases and sentences. Let there be fun, play, even absurdity in your classes, the main thing is that only during the game the child actively learns the necessary knowledge and gets skills.
