The study of the multiplication table is included in the curriculum for primary school children. At this age, students have a well-developed mechanical memory, so memorization occurs by the method of “cramming”. In some children, mechanical memory is much less developed than, for example, figurative and emotional. For them, studying the multiplication table can be quite a challenge. You can help these kids using some tricks.

You will need

  • - paper, cardboard;

  • - ruler;

  • - scissors;

  • - colored pencils, felt-tip pens, markers;

  • - paints.

Let your child draw a multiplication table on the model. Give him everything you need for this: album sheet, ruler, paints, colored pencils, markers and felt-tip pens. Let it be colorful and vibrant. Learning from such a fun table will be much more pleasant and interesting for a child than using a boring standard, printed in a textbook or printed from a computer.

2

In fact, the immense multiplication table seems only at first glance. Its individual columns and rows are remembered, as a rule, very easily. First deal with multiplication by one. There is no need to memorize anything, because any number multiplied by one will be equal to itself.

3

Next, start studying the table of multiplication of numbers by two. As a rule, it is not a big difficulty for schoolchildren, because in order to multiply a number by two, you just need to add it to yourself. And with the addition of numbers in children at primary school age, problems should no longer arise.

4

Proceed to multiplying the numbers by five. Note the student that the result of the multiplication will always end in zero if the number is even, and by five if it is odd.

5

Children quickly remember the diagonal of numbers multiplied by themselves. The fact that twice two is four, many know from the famous children's song. Examples like 5 * 5 = 25 and 6 * 6 = 36 are easy to remember thanks to rhyme.

6

But remembering the multiplication table by 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9 will still have to be done by mechanical memorization. Try to do it in a playful way. Draw and cut bright cards from thick paper or cardboard, on one half of which write examples, and on the other answers. Ask the child to correctly connect the cards with examples and answers.

7

Come up with a little rhyme for each example. "Six seven - forty two, grass grows in the yard" or "Three times nine - twenty seven, did not recognize you at all." Despite the fact that these rhymes may seem silly, they help many students to quickly learn the multiplication table.
