Adaptation period

The adaptation period in the new conditions certainly affects the success of training in general. Remember that your child’s environment has changed dramatically, new faces appear not only among peers, but also adults - teachers, curators. Your main task in such a crucial period of a teenager’s life is to help organically fit into the team and the educational process, while trying to maintain the integrity and uniqueness of your child.

Despite the dangers of our time, the attitude of parents to their child, now a student, should remain at the same level. Become a friend to your child, notation and moralizing can adversely affect relationships. In a new and exciting period of life, adolescents imagine themselves to be adults and especially focus on new acquaintances with peers in the group and the institution as a whole (remember that children not only from wealthy families can surround your child). Be interested in new acquaintances and interests of a teenager, but do not be intrusive.

Give your child the right to their own opinion, talk with him on an equal footing. This will help in the future to conduct a dialogue, to set priorities correctly.

Pay attention to the mood of your child, many people experience complexes during the adaptation period related to their financial situation, appearance, and clothing. Be prepared for the fact that your child wants to update the wardrobe (this question is especially acute for teenage girls).

Try not to react to negative manifestations addressed to you. Often, adolescents in difficult periods for themselves splash out their feelings on loved ones. This can be expressed both in the manifestation of aggression and in the removal from parents. Do not take what is happening at your own expense, this stage of adaptation for your child will soon pass and you must go through it with him. It is also worth paying attention to the relationship of all family members to the teenager, trying to explain to them that the child is currently in a difficult period - entering adulthood.
