Letter crafts are an easy way to learn English letters - fun in the game. Today we will do a craft with the letter Y, which begins with the word “yarn” (threads).

This craft can be done with students of the second class who begin to learn the letters of the English alphabet, or can be done with preschoolers who begin to study the English language.

Here's what we need:

A sheet of thin light cardboard in A5 format for the background.

Trimming multicolored threads. It will turn out very beautifully if threads of different textures and bright colors are used.

Glue stick

Simple pencil, eraser

Scissors

Felt-tip pen to sign a craft

Today we will make a craft with the letter Y. On the one hand, this letter is very simple, and on the other, it is complex: it is often, having already been learned, confused with the Russian letter U, similar to it. Tell the child that the letter is similar to the Russian U, but in fact it is her sister. Our new friend is called differently, and she doesn’t look like that.

Swipe the letter with the child, say its name and tell the child that the word yarn begins with this letter, which means "threads". This is the letter we will make - and our craft will be unusual, with threads.

Draw the outline of the letter with a pencil on the cardboard - and if the child wants, let him do it himself. Now give the child scissors and ask him to cut the pieces of thread he likes into small pieces. Now there is very little left - grease the letter with glue, and sprinkle it with thread. Help the baby gently evenly arrange the threads in the letter.

Now sign the craft - write the name of the child (if the child can write the name himself in English letters - that's great). You can write the word “yarn” (threads) in capital letters.
