Expulsion from the university at the request of the student

Due to family, financial or other circumstances, a student may need to stop studying. In this case, he has the right to apply for expulsion of his own free will and leave the university.

If you already have a supervisor, for example, a teacher with whom you write a thesis, tell him about your decision to leave the university. If your decision is connected with any problems with academic debt or with writing a qualifying work, perhaps he will tell you a different way out. For example, for people who simply do not have time to study due to work or family problems, an academic vacation can be a way out. In this case, you retain the legal right to return to study after graduation without loss of course.

For paperwork, come to the dean of your faculty. Student deduction is usually dealt with by the dean or his deputy for academic affairs. Meet one of them and explain your situation. If you cannot find a solution other than deduction, write a statement of your departure from school according to the model that will be given to you. After that, pass the document in person to the dean or secretary of the dean's office.

Get paper from the university. Your school graduation certificate must be returned to you. Also, for students of the fourth and more senior courses, an official certificate must be prepared that they have incomplete higher education.

If you received education on a paid basis, discuss with the dean the issue of returning part of the money paid to you. This is especially true if you leave the university at the beginning of the semester. Not every university will meet you in such a matter, but if it is indicated in the contract, you may be partially compensated for the payment for the period of study that you will no longer take.

If you didn’t leave the first year, then for several years after the university you still have the opportunity to restore your previous year of study.
