How to remember the colors of the rainbow

Rainbow is not only a beautiful heroine of fairy tales, nursery rhymes and counters, but also a complex physical phenomenon. You can watch it after rain or in heavy fog in the presence of sunlight. There are seven primary colors of the rainbow, and remembering them is not difficult at all, this is useful for children for school, and for adults to broaden their horizons.

A rainbow is a meteorological natural phenomenon visible to the eye from a great distance in the form of a multi-colored arc or circle (less commonly). The spectrum of colors is diverse and consists of many shades, but it is customary to distinguish seven colors that always go in the following sequence: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, blue, purple. This is due to the refraction (reflection at an angle) of the sun's rays passing through water droplets. Their light is decomposed into the colors of the specified spectrum.

In order to facilitate the memorization of the primary colors of the rainbow spectrum, two well-known mnemonic phrases are used:

How once Jacques the bell-ringer broke his head with his head;

Every hunter wants to know where the pheasant sits.

These word combinations use the first letter hint method; in the case of a rainbow, they mean the names of the colors.

The same tricks are used in many languages, for example, in English:

There are many folk examples related to the rainbow and determining the weather. For example, if the rainbow is high and narrow, then the weather will be good; if it is low and wide, then the weather will be bad.

Each observer will see the rainbow in his own way because of the difference in density and size of water droplets visible from his point of view.

There is a moon rainbow, but it is much paler than the sun because of the weak intensity of moonlight.

The foggy rainbow is white, almost colorless, but sometimes it can be slightly colored in purple (on the inside) and orange (on the outside).
