How to learn a whole poem

Learning a whole poem by heart is not so easy. This process will take time and some tricks. Do not expect that you can learn a huge amount of text in a few days.

The first steps

First of all, you need to find the sound file with the desired poem. You can use a professional studio recording or make your own version. It is best to split this file into small passages for 3-4 minutes, you can do this using the simplest audio editor. For a week and a half, you need to listen to this recording at any opportunity - in the morning after waking up, in the evening before going to bed, in the car on the way to work, and so on.

Then you need to prepare printouts with the text of the poem on separate sheets, it is best to make several identical copies. These printouts can be carried around, kept at home and at work. As with audio recordings, at every opportunity you just need to read the text, and not necessarily completely, you can divide the entire poem into several “approaches” throughout the day. In this case, you must continue to listen to the audio recording.
