How to keep an electronic classroom journal

An electronic classroom magazine from an amazing novelty has become a reality for many schools. Along with the widespread development of the Internet, a gradual transition to electronic forms of providing the educational process is being carried out: paper documents are a thing of the past.

In order for the electronic classroom magazine to fulfill its functions fully and contribute to the openness of learning, it must be properly maintained. For older teachers it is not always easy to abandon the usual handwritten reports, but after a while they can appreciate the convenience of the new journal.

After the Diary.ru program (this is the name of the electronic classroom journal) is officially registered and installed, the system administrator transfers users passwords and logins to access their functions. Class teachers, in turn, transmit the necessary data to parents and students so that they can monitor learning outcomes at any time.

The class teacher regularly fills out an electronic journal. He enters data on students and monitors their accuracy. If the student is absent due to illness, he marks the omission of lessons with the letter “b”, for disrespectful reason - “n”. Together with subject teachers, the class teacher divides the class into groups at the beginning of each year. Despite the fact that parents can control the learning process online, the class teacher should generate and print reports on the performance and attendance of their children.

Each subject teacher keeps a classroom journal within his competence. He enters data on training programs, homework, attendance and academic performance. Filling out the journal must be carried out on the day of the lesson, retroactive grading is not possible (the exception is grades for written work, they can be set within 3 days).

In general, work with the electronic journal repeats the work with ordinary paper. At the end of the trimesters, hard copies are made on the basis of the electronic journal, they are endorsed by signatures and filed into the case. It is very important that the passwords and logins of teachers and class teachers do not become known to students and their parents.
