How to meet students

At the beginning of the school year, many teachers will meet their new students, and not only in schools, but also in various educational courses and in circles. There are many children in the class, you need to get to know everyone, to appear in the best light in your first lesson. It is not so difficult to do this if you approach the issue creatively.

You can use a very simple and traditional way: introduce yourself to the students, be sure to write your name, surname and patronymic on the board. Then, in a friendly way, tell us about your subject, about what you will be doing with them this year, and what materials besides textbooks and notebooks students will need. In the first lesson, in no case should you intimidate students with too strict rules or display their subject in a better light than subjects of colleagues. If there are a lot of children in the class and it’s still not possible to remember the names, at the beginning of the lesson give each one a card, ask them to write their name on it in a large and legible way and put it on their desk.

Use the profile for dating. After the main presentation, you can give out printed questionnaires so that students enter their first and last names, information about parents, hobbies, home address. This method is especially suitable for the new class teacher and for high school students. The dating method is quite formal, but you will immediately have all the information about the wards in your hands.

Story about yourself. The teacher himself can begin to tell about himself to the class, about his hobbies, hobbies, family. Then the turn goes to the students. Your frankness will cause their sincerity. You can invite your students to tell the story of the teacher on their own, even if the children first see you in front of them. To do this, write on the board the words that are associated with you, for example: "Children", "Russian language", "Samara", "Dog", "Books". Now invite several students to tell a story about the teacher based on these words. These stories will be somewhat different from each other, but it will already be clear to the students that your subject is Russian, you love children, you come from Samara, you have a dog, and in the evenings you read books. An unusual presentation will make the lesson more interesting, now the children themselves will be able to talk and talk about themselves.

Nominations For students in grades 1-7, you can arrange a small game in which they themselves will talk about themselves, and even have fun. Several nominations are written out on the board: “The smartest”, “The most educated”, “The most caring”, “The biggest fidget”, “The most beautiful”, etc. There are tons of options for nominations, the more fun they are, the more fun the game will be. Then the students assign their nomination to each student. Avoid nominations offensive to children so that your first lesson in the class is not perceived by anyone as something unpleasant.

Another fun way to get to know the class will be a comic game. It is especially suitable for grades 1-5. The teacher asks questions, and those guys who can answer him positively should wave or pat the teacher in response. Options for questions and greetings: “Hello, girls!”, “Good morning, boys!”, “Which of you is the smartest?”, “Who loves sweets?”, “Who is the most beautiful here?”, “Who has a brother?” " The game goes through usually fun, but the teacher needs to create a cheerful mood initially.

Another game for a quick acquaintance with the class is called "Snowball", it is well suited for classes where the guys are still unfamiliar with each other. It is performed well, including in English, in various circles and studios. The first student should give his name and say some other quality or hobby, for example, "Petya, I like to play football." The second student repeats, pointing to the first: “Petya, loves to play football, ” and then calls his name and passion. The third repeats the names and hobbies of two students and calls his own. The game is fun, the whole class gets to know the last student and learns each other's names.
