Pharmaceutical activities in the Russian Federation are entitled to carry out by persons who have received higher or secondary pharmaceutical education in the Russian Federation, who have a special title, license and a corresponding specialist certificate. The presence of a pharmacist certificate implies that its holder has a high level of knowledge both in theory and in practice. And this is a prerequisite for engaging in pharmaceutical activities.

To obtain a pharmacist’s certificate, you need to complete a full course of postgraduate professional education (graduate school, residency, internship), or a course of additional professional education (usually at least 144 hours), or professional retraining (over 500 hours).

After selecting and completing the appropriate course, you have the right to admission to the qualification exam. Success in qualification tests is a guarantee of obtaining a certificate, the validity of which is five years.

A pharmacist certificate is issued by state or municipal pharmaceutical and research institutions that have a corresponding license.

Before the start of qualification tests, you need to decide on the place where you will pass the tests, and provide the necessary documents:

Application addressed to the chairman of the examination qualification commission;

- A copy of the diploma of completion of a pharmaceutical educational institution (faculty);

- copies of documents on additional and postgraduate professional education;

- copies of previously issued certificates;

- extract from the work book;

- personal report of the examinee about the work, reflecting skills and practical skills for 1 year.

Before the start of the tests, a qualification commission is formed, which consists of health professionals, pharmaceutical associations, research institutions.

The exam consists of three stages and can take one or several days. The following stages are distinguished: test control; determination of practical skills of a specialist; final interview.

The qualification commission makes a decision by a majority of votes, and if the number of votes is equal, then the decision is in favor of the person who passes the exam.

If one of the steps is not passed, the right to further tests is canceled. In such cases, the commission determines the date of re-delivery.

The decision of the qualification commission may be appealed to the Central Examination Qualification Commission, or in court.
