How to identify a university

If you are just about to graduate, the eternal question arises: where to go to study? Indeed, your work, career and, possibly, your whole future life will depend on this choice. But even if you have already decided on a specialty, you still need to choose the right university.

Select the community where you want to study. The big city attracts with opportunities and prospects, but you need to remember that the competition for budget places is huge, and not everyone can afford to pay for tuition at a large metropolitan university. In provincial cities, the choice of specialties is much smaller, but it’s easier to do, and finding housing and studying will not be so expensive. A large number of advantages has a hometown. Parents will solve all everyday problems, and they will help to study, and there will be less temptations. The choice is not easy.

Decide on the type of university - it will be a public educational institution or a commercial one. Non-state university provides the opportunity to study only on a fee basis, but there the competition is much lower or generally accepted by everyone. In any case, the university must have accreditation (the right to issue a diploma) and a license for at least the next 5 years. Otherwise, the organization may suddenly be closed, and you will be left without a diploma. This is especially important for students of branches of commercial universities. The government plans in the coming years to significantly reduce their number.

Define a specialty. There is still a specialty system in which after five years of study you will receive a diploma of complete higher education, but there are fewer such universities. Most likely, you will first have to become a bachelor, and then, if possible, a master. Directions and specialties, as well as training periods, are published on websites and in brochures of educational organizations.

Study the infrastructure of the university. If you are a young man, having a military department and granting deferment from the army is by no means the last condition when choosing a place of study. Find out about the possibilities of the library and the availability of a dining room and a hostel. For nonresident students, this is absolutely important.
