How to learn logic

The ability to think logically helps a person to see the essence of things, problems and events that he encounters daily in various situations. Logical thinking can be developed to a certain extent. And if you want to help your child understand logic, start developing activities with him as soon as possible.

Go to the faculty, in which logic is one of the majoring academic disciplines (legal, philosophical, etc.). Attend all lectures and practical classes, do it yourself according to the plan and list of literature agreed with the teacher. For the best memorization, make tables and diagrams. Use facts that have evidence or require them as practical examples.

If you want to master the laws of logic on your own, purchase or take in the library "Logical Encyclopedia" and textbooks on logic (for example, authors such as V. I. Kobzar, A. A. Ivin). You can also find some textbooks on the Internet by visiting http://www.iu.ru/biblio (library of the Russian Humanities Internet University). Enter the word “logic” in the search bar in the library’s archive and download any book on this subject.

On the Internet you can find numerous trainings on logic. However, they should not be trusted especially, since their program is extremely scarce and represents a free arrangement of the introductory part of the textbook on the logic illustrated by modern materials.

Buy a collection of logical tasks and first select those that you can solve with little or no thought. Check with the answers. If you find errors, do not be discouraged, but try to understand how exactly you violated the laws of logic. Gradually complicate tasks.

If you want your child to be able to think logically, never refuse to answer him even to the most absurd questions. It is possible that he himself, having thought for some time, will come to a completely different conclusion, which will testify to the fact that he already has the initial skills of logical thinking.

Teach your child to compare, exclude and generalize. For example, show him several similar objects (of different colors or sizes) and ask him to answer how one differs from the other.

Buy him developing games, and in order for him to become interested in them, work out with him until he can play them on his own. Get books with simple logic problems for children and introduce the child to the principles of their solution.
