One of the tasks of elementary school is to teach children to write calligraphically, but even not all adults have this skill. You can learn to write calligraphy yourself, using certain rules.

Instruction manual

one

To begin with, take the correct body position. To do this, sit on a chair straight, tilt your head slightly forward. If you are right-handed, put your left hand on the table and transfer part of the body weight to it, while holding paper with this hand. If you are left-handed, then move the fulcrum to your right hand. The hand you are writing should barely touch the surface of the table.

2

Take the writing tool — a pen or pen — in your working hand. With the thumb, press the handle to the nail phalanx of the middle finger. Bend your index finger and hold the handle on top. Hold the writing instrument in your hand without tension.

3

Relax and extend the remaining two fingers - excess tension in them will interfere with smooth movements of the hand. Check the correct position of the handle, pull it out with the other hand at the upper end. If it slides freely, then you are doing everything right.

4

Start practicing calligraphic lettering by drawing lines of arbitrary shape on paper. First write at an angle of 30 degrees, then at an angle of 45 and 90 degrees. It is important to learn how to observe a tilt at a given angle. Follow the sequence: you need to write only from top to bottom and from left to right.

5

Practice writing the letter "o", draw each line in one step and carefully connect the touching lines. This is for writing rounded characters. Do not change the position of the hand while writing, as the angle may change.

6

Learn to write strictly vertical strokes. When writing a stroke, do not rely on the previous one if it has a tilt angle changed - the entire line of strokes can tilt. Watch your breath and draw strokes as you exhale. Avoid too fast and excessively slow movements, choose a convenient rhythm of writing.

Calligraphic writing requires a certain determination from the author and is the result of persistent training.

note

Do the exercises the first time slowly and methodically, increasing speed will be a natural process.

Useful advice

Go to writing complex letters gradually, as soon as you master the technique of simple exercises.
