How to write conclusions for the thesis

Want to know how members of the SAC determine the quality of the thesis? Usually there is no time to thoroughly read each Talmud to teachers - the main subject of their attention is the introduction and conclusion. It is here that the concept of research and its significant results are presented in a concise form. If they are spelled carelessly and illiterate, there is no need to talk about a high level of thesis. The ability to formulate clear conclusions is necessary when writing a diploma, and in preparing for its presentation during the defense procedure.

Your thesis should include at least two chapters, and each chapter at least two paragraphs. Complete each paragraph with a small intermediate conclusion, fitting into two or three paragraphs. At the end of the chapters, formulate a general conclusion summarizing the main trends, approaches and definitions presented in this part of the study.

Conclusions to the entire thesis are given in the section "conclusion". The volume of the conclusion, on average, is from 2 to 4 pages. It will be a mistake for humanitarian students to believe that a conclusion is just some kind of common words. On the contrary, the conclusions of the study should be formulated very accurately, clearly, concisely and reflect the main theoretical and / or empirical results of the study.

One of the best ways to present the conclusions in the thesis is their abstract on the points. The number of points can vary from three to ten (there are no strict regulations here). This way of formulating conclusions will allow both the reader and you to "grab" the key provisions of the thesis.

The conclusions of the thesis must be correlated with the objectives and hypotheses stated in the introduction. Indicate whether the assumptions made by you at the beginning of the work were confirmed. Give, if necessary, predictions regarding the phenomenon under study, indicate further prospects for its study. Practical recommendations for solving the indicated problem will be of great value.

Remember that conclusions should not be formal, but informative. Therefore, do not write: "various types have been identified

", " the structure has been described

"Better:" the following types were highlighted

", " the investigated structure includes

". Otherwise, the reader or listener will get an idea only about the directions and stages of your work, and not about specific results.

Conclusions to the thesis do not imply any examples, quotes, or excessive detailing of a particular fragment of the study. All this should be contained in the main text of the work.

Avoid abstract, general formulations that are poorly related to the specific topic of your research. A clear outline of the conclusions is welcome.
