An analytical article is one of the main genres of journalism. It is a comprehensive and unbiased study by the author of a situation. Most often, such articles cover economic, political, and social processes. To prepare high-quality analytical material, you must adhere to certain requirements for the content and structure of the article.

Instruction manual

one

Make a circle of questions that you will cover in your article, and a list of experts who will help to understand the problem. Keep in mind that you should analyze several points of view. For example, if you have to write about the results of the exam in your city, talk not only with students and parents who are dissatisfied with this form of knowledge testing, but also with teachers who are confident in its effectiveness.

2

Having collected the necessary material, distribute it according to the degree of reliability and significance. First of all, use trusted sources and the opinion of reputable experts. Only in case of emergency you can give generalized examples of public opinion, not supported by documents.

3

Develop your own point of view on the topic under study. An analytical article can and should express an author's opinion. At the same time, you must explain why you came to this conclusion. The author's assessment of the situation develops in the course of the study and may change from the initial one.

4

Write the text. Ideally, an analytical article should include the following parts:

- leader-paragraph (first paragraph of the text), which briefly reports on the event or the problem;

- an introductory part in which the author talks about the importance and background of the event;

- the main (analytical) part. Here, the author sets out the essence of the problem, gives various points of view of specialists on the causes of the situation, the current state of the issue, as well as their assumptions on ways to prevent and eliminate negative consequences;

- conclusion (conclusions). In this part, the author summarizes all points of view, finding their common features and significant differences. At the end of the article, a widespread, but completely unrealistic opinion on any issue may be refuted or the reader will be asked to draw their own conclusions based on the proposed facts and versions.

5

Read the text again, double-check all the citations, dates, names of institutions and organizations, surnames and positions of people, geographical names. Divide the text into logically completed parts, highlight the subheadings.
