A lecturer in a higher education institution must adhere to certain rules for conducting a lecture. Otherwise, the correct contact with students will be impaired, which will negatively affect the educational process.

Prepare the text of the lecture in advance. An untrained teacher at a lecture is absolutely useless - his story will have almost zero information content. Moreover, it is unacceptable to read lecture material from a textbook, which students can use independently. Students, seeing a disregard for themselves, will cease to respect the teacher and his interaction with the team will not bear any fruit. Therefore, write a short summary for yourself, even if you think that this is not necessary. An exception is possible if you have a good memory - then you can present the material without “peeping” into the synoptic cheat sheet.

Observe subordination with students. Many teachers (especially young ones) tend to make fatal mistakes in communicating with students. The most common of these is an attempt to build a conversation on an equal footing. As soon as students feel that you can communicate with your peers, you will not be able to return the lecture to the course of their quiet knowledge. They perceive such a way to get closer to the audience as a weakness on the part of the teacher and think that he can do anything with him. Therefore, at the very first lecture, “draw a line”, which they will not be allowed to cross the borders of: you are an adult who shares knowledge with them; they are students who attend a lecture to gain knowledge.

Fear of speaking to an audience will have to overcome. A person with such fear is afraid of the very prospect of giving a lecture to a hundred or two students whose eyes will be directed only at him throughout the academic hour. What if you start to stutter? What if you suddenly falter and everyone will laugh at you? But what if students start asking questions about the lecture? Calm down! Drink valerian before the lecture, and immediately before entering the audience, inhale deeply several times - and the fear will recede.
