The exam is the "final chord" of eleven years of schooling. At the same time, despite the fact that this format became mandatory for all Russian schools back in 2009, the rules for its implementation are constantly changing. It is not surprising that graduates and their parents constantly have questions regarding the final certification. And one of them is the influence of USE scores on the certificate.

Do the results of the exam affect the marks in the certificate

Examinations OGE (GIA), which students pass after grade 9 and the exam, surrender after completing a full course of high school, are very similar in format. And this similarity leads to some confusion when the guys try to apply the experience gained at the OGE to the final exams.

So, after the end of the ninth grade, the grade on the subject put up in the certificate of incomplete secondary education depends on how the work was assessed during the year and on the results of the OGE: the "average mark" is put in the certificate (with rounding up) Moreover, if earlier this concerned only compulsory subjects - mathematics and the Russian language - then from 2018 the results of elective examinations also affect the final grade.

However, the situation with the exam is completely different. Oddly enough, the exam results do not affect the grades that are exhibited in the certificate of maturity. The final grade is calculated taking into account the results of studies in grades 10 and 11 (grades for six months and a year) and cannot be adjusted to a greater or lesser extent. So, if a student received "satisfactory" in mathematics, and wrote a fairly simple basic exam to "excellent" - the "troika" will still be in the certificate. And vice versa.

But to say that the exam does not affect the certificate - still it is impossible. Firstly, it depends on the results of the final state examination whether the student will be able to receive a document at all, indicating that he received an education. Secondly, starting in 2019, it is impossible to get a "medal" certificate with honors without confirming your knowledge with USE points.

Minimum Unified State Exam points for obtaining a certificate in 2019

The certificate confirms that the student at least at some level has mastered the eleven-year program. And, if at the USE the graduate demonstrates ignorance of the main subjects - Russian and mathematics - he cannot be considered to have successfully completed school.

The minimum threshold for obtaining a certificate in 2019 is:

  • in Russian - 24;

  • in mathematics - 27 (profile level), three for the basic.

Pupils who failed to break the bar the first time in one of these subjects have the right to retake it twice in the same year. Those who “failed” both exams will have to study the school curriculum for another year. They will be able to pass exams and receive a certificate only after a year.

Note that this applies only to compulsory subjects. The results obtained on exams of choice are taken into account only when admission to the university. And, if the student has failed to score the required minimum points for any of the exams of his choice (or did not go to the exam at all) - this will not affect the receipt of the certificate.
