According to the relatively new law on education, before entering a university, it is necessary to pass a unified state exam. Graduates have practically no problems with this question, since the school takes over the organization of the exam. Things are more complicated for those who have long graduated from school.

General Provisions

The unified state exam on the territory of the Russian Federation has the right to pass any person, regardless of age and nationality. To gain access to the exam, you must apply before March 1 of the current year. The application must include a list of those items that you intend to turn in. Therefore, it is better to clarify in advance which exams the faculty you want to enter takes.

Be careful, as in different universities for the same faculty you may need different exams. And, of course, remember that you have the right to submit a certificate of exam in five different universities.

Together with the application, a certificate and a copy of the passport are accepted. If there is no passport at the time of filing, the USE can be handed over under a temporary certificate.

Where to apply

The easiest way for school students - for them, the educational institution itself deals with the question of applying for the exam. But what about those wonderful school years that have already passed?

The final recipient of the application for participation in the exam should be the Department of Education, which will add you to the database, as well as future graduates of schools. A department of education is available in every city. In large cities, units can even be found in specific areas. Determine which unit is closer to you, and go there to write a statement. Alternatively, you can contact the general education institution you were a graduate of and write a statement there.

After which, until May 10, it will be necessary to make a second trip to the department to get a pass. The pass will contain all the necessary information about where and when your exam will be held. Without this paper, the commission will not allow you to the exam.

Additional terms

In life, situations happen when you were unable for personal reasons to submit an application before March 1. Do not give up and postpone admission to college until next year. You can try to pass the exam in an additional time frame (second wave). To do this, you need until July 5 to apply to the university, which you mainly want to enroll, and write a statement there.

The only difficulty that can seriously ruin your plans may be the order of the State Examination Commission. According to this order, your application will be rejected due to the lack of a good reason why you could not pass the exam in the main term. Therefore, it is better to resolve this issue in advance and take care of the evidence.

How valid are the exam results

In connection with the new law "On Education", applicants had many questions about how valid the results of the exam for graduates of previous years are valid. In the new law, the validity of the certificate was increased to 4 years. The law was adopted on December 29, 2012, and entered into force on September 1. On the official website of the exam, it was reported that the results of 2012 graduates also fall under this law.
