What awaits the graduate at OGE 2020 in literature

In 2020, changes in the structure of exams will also affect the literature exam. So, based on the data of a promising model, we can understand that in the coming academic year, graduates will be required to complete five, and not four, as was the case before, tasks. Nevertheless, the general structure will turn out to be the same: each option will consist of two parts, the first of which involves the analysis of the proposed works, and the second - writing an essay on one of the data on a choice of topics.

What is the first part of the exam?

In the first part of the exam, four tasks will be proposed for solution, divided into two complexes. The first complex involves the analysis of an epic, lyroepic or dramatic work. For example, in the demo version displayed on the FIPI website, students are asked to analyze a fragment from the work of A.S. Pushkin's "Captain's Daughter". After reading it, the student must answer two out of four questions in three to five sentences: 1.1 or 1.2 and 2.1 or 2.2.

The second complex involves testing the skills of analyzing a poetic text: within the framework of the demo version, the poem "Listening to the horrors of war …" N. A. Nekrasov. Questions 3.1 and 3.2 are aimed directly at testing this skill, of which it is also necessary to choose only one for the answer.

All the tasks listed above have a basic level of difficulty, so each of them will be rated at six points maximum, which in total will give 18 primary points, or 40 - on a one-point system. This is the number of tasks that is mandatory (minimum) to complete so that the exam is considered passed.

The fourth question has an already increased level of difficulty, therefore, for the correct answer, the examiner can receive a maximum of eight primary points (approximately 18 in the 100-point system). This task involves a comparison - within five to eight sentences - of two poetic texts (fragments), a search and characterization of common motives and images, in this case we are talking about a comparative analysis of the works of N.A. Nekrasov and A.D. Dementyev (based on the material of the demo version from the FIPI website).

What is included in the second part of the exam?

The fifth task has a high level of difficulty, so the examiner can get 13 primary points for it, or 29 according to the stall system. It involves writing a full-fledged essay of approximately 200 words. The choice of the examiner is offered five topics, four of which involve a complete and comprehensive analysis of a particular work of art, familiarity with literary comments and critical articles devoted to this text.

The fifth question in this task is the most difficult for a full disclosure, and therefore quite insidious: it is worth taking it only if the student feels really insufficiently confident in the answers to the previous four. The fact is that it involves not only an analysis of several works of art, but also independent discussion on the proposed abstract topic. On the one hand, this gives more freedom in response and more space in expressing personal opinion, on the other hand, this liberty provided by the format may entail unnecessary risks. In particular, the examinee has the right to use the texts of the works provided by the examiners, in this case, he may be deprived of this opportunity for objective reasons.
