What exams to pass on economic faculties

The competition among applicants for economic specialties in many universities is much higher than in other faculties. The popularity of economic specialties is justified by the huge scope of their application. Therefore, prepare for admission should be especially diligent.

Maths. The most necessary subject for almost any economic specialty, therefore, is a core subject. You cannot do without excellent knowledge of mathematics in the economic sphere. And since mathematics is already a compulsory subject for all school graduates, you will have to take it anyway.

Russian language. Another required exam. In some universities, the results of the Russian language are not counted in the total score of the applicant, so you just need to pass this subject no lower than the minimum score.

Social science. It is an additional exam for the vast majority of economic specialties. In particular, in areas related to the global or political economy, management.

Foreign language. It is often found among tests at economic faculties, especially in Moscow universities or in specialties and faculties related to international law, hotel business and tourism.

Physics. A rather unusual subject in connection with the Faculty of Economics, but, however, has a fairly logical justification. Many economic specialties are related to manufacturing processes or technology. They cannot do without knowledge of physics.

Russian history. Sometimes present in the list of exams instead of social studies, less often - with it. The subject is relevant for political and economic specialties.

Earlier, the economic departments of some universities accepted applicants based on the results of only two exams - mathematics and the Russian language. But, seeing the transcendental contests for such specialties, the leadership of universities changed their policies and added a third exam. Some universities do not conduct three, but as many as four exams for economic faculties or internal additional exams at the university itself, in order to make the selection of students more transparent.

In order to find out exactly what exams you need to choose to pass the exam, you must first decide on a specialty. Only after that it will be clear what will have to be passed: social studies, a foreign language or physics.
