A diploma is a document of higher education and, as a rule, is required for presentation in the original. However, there are times when a person does not have the opportunity to provide the original diploma, and you have to be content with a copy. If you provide a copy without the original, it must be certified accordingly.

The best is notarization of a copy. You can take to any notary the original of your diploma together in all attachments and receive certified copies with the seal and signature of the notary and special firmware. For such a procedure, take your passport and diploma with you. The notary does not certify ready-made copies, since in this case there is a danger of falsification of any part of the information. Keep in mind that if the sheets of inserts of your diploma will not have firmware, confirmed by the seal and signature of the rector of the university, and the sheets will not be numbered, the notary has the right to refuse to certify such a document. Also, the reason for the refusal is severe damage to some diploma sheets.

Assure the diploma with an apostille if you need confirmation of its authenticity abroad. To do this, you must first make a transfer to a translation agency. Keep in mind that the diploma must not be translated into English, but into the language of the country for presentation in which you need it. Once the translated copy is ready, you must certify it at the Ministry of Education. Some agencies provide a full range of services for the translation of documents, including their certification with an apostille, it is best to learn about this in advance.

A copy of the diploma can also be certified at the institution itself, if necessary. In this case, all sheets of the application are also separately certified, a copy is stapled, certified with the seal of the university, the signature of the rector and the executive secretary. However, remember that with this assurance you are not immune from the fact that such a copy of any organization will not be enough. And although in its legal force a diploma certified by the educational institution that issued it is equated with a notarized copy, many persistently require only notarization.

In no case do not disconnect the firmware of the sheets of attachment to the diploma and its copies! If the firmware, confirmed by seals and signatures, is violated, the copy loses its legal force.

It is best to immediately make several certified copies of the diploma, so as not to run on an emergency basis in search of a notary and not to stand in lines once again.
