Each student, regardless of the form of study (full-time or part-time, paid or free), if a good reason arises that temporarily interferes with studies at a university, has the right to receive academic leave. The essence of academic leave is that the student is exempted from attending classes, passing the session for a long time. The term of academic leave can be from six months to a year (in some cases, this period can be extended to six years).

First of all, in order to take an academic leave, it is necessary to determine the reason why the educational institution should provide the student with this type of leave. Academic leave is divided into two types. The first type is leave for health reasons. The second type is leave for exceptional cases: leave for family reasons, maternity leave, leave for the care of a child up to three years, leave due to natural disasters.

Further, if this is a vacation due to health reasons, special medical documents must be issued. The first document is a certificate of form 095 / U. This certificate is issued for a period of up to 10 days for a disabled student due to the presence of the disease. The second document is a certificate of form 027 / U. This certificate serves as confirmation of the presence of the disease according to the certificate of form 095 / U, and also contains information on the severity, duration of the disease and recommendations on the student’s release from any physical exertion and visit to the school. And the third final and main document for formalizing academic leave is the conclusion of the clinical expert commission on the student’s health status. This type of document contains all the results of examinations, the results of the tests, information about the course of the disease and the advisability of formalizing academic leave.
This set of documents will be a good reason for the rector of the educational institution to permit the issuance of academic leave for health reasons.

In the second case, consider maternity leave. In order to take maternity leave, it is necessary to take a request at the educational institution for passing a medical expert commission. But to get it, you need no debt for the previous session. If there is a debt, then the issuance of a request may be refused. After receiving a request at the university, you must contact the clinic with which this institution collaborates. The following documents must be submitted to this medical institution for passing the commission: a request received at a university, a student ID card, a test book, an extract from an outpatient card of a medical institution in which a student was observed in connection with pregnancy, certificate 095 / U. Then the student receives a decision of the commission and provides it to the dean of the educational institution. And on the basis of this decision, the question is considered by the leadership of the educational institution on the provision of student leave.

And in the third case, academic leave on the basis of family circumstances is provided in the following order. The student must apply with the statement stating the reason for the academic leave to the rector of the educational institution. And after considering the situation of the student, the leadership of the university makes a decision on providing the student with academic leave.
