How to apply for a pilot

The profession of a pilot is one of the most attractive and romantic. It is not surprising that many boys dream of being pilots. You can become a professional pilot by enrolling in one of the many flight schools in Russia. But it is important to imagine what requirements are presented to applicants.

A way for those who want to become a professional aviator: Relate your desires to opportunities. You must have certain physical, psychological qualities (endure prolonged physical and psychological stress, be stress-resistant, the ability to make decisions in extreme situations, and much more). You need to have a complete secondary education. For admission it will be necessary to provide USE certificates in mathematics, the Russian language, physics, and a foreign language.

Choose a direction for yourself. All flying schools in Russia are divided into civilian and military. If you want to be a pilot in civil transportation, commercial organizations (passengers, non-military cargo), then go to the Civil Aviation School. If you want to serve in the air forces, then in the military aviation school.

Keep in mind that flight schools are divided into higher educational institutions and secondary schools. The duration of study depends on this - 5 or 3 years, respectively.

Prepare a package of documents: - certificate of a full secondary school or primary vocational education;

- medical flight school. Upon graduation, you will receive a commercial pilot certificate.

A way for those who want to learn to fly "for themselves": Go to study as a pilot in a flying club. You will be able to make the first familiarization flight on the same day.

Go through the medical board. Learn flight theory yourself or under the guidance of experienced instructors and educators. Fly in the required number of hours. Pass the exam and get a pilot’s certificate.

Please note that in Russia there are three levels of flight skills: 1. amateur pilot or private pilot;

2. commercial pilot;

3. line pilot. These certificates are obtained in stages. A commercial pilot certificate allows you to fly on your own. A line pilot as an aircraft commander can control any class of aircraft, but you must have a flight time of 150 hours and excellent health. In Russian aviation clubs you can get only an amateur pilot certificate and the right to fly a light private jet.
