One of the skills that a business person needs to master is the preparation of official business papers - official letters, orders, orders, acts, decrees, etc. The norms of the Russian language that are used in everyday life are not suitable for such documents. The style that is used in compiling them has its own distinctive features.

Lexical features of business papers

In contrast to the norms adopted in everyday life, the limitation of the range of language means and the use of only standard speech speeds are used and welcomed in business papers, which leads to a high degree of repeatability. The vocabulary component of the official business style is characterized by the use of cliches - clericalism and clichés that are not found in colloquial speech: "at the same time we send you", "based on the above, " "control over execution, " etc.

In business and official papers, professional terminology is used that is characteristic of the branch of the economy to which these documents relate: "credit", "debit", "arrears", "offsets", "budget painting", "urban planning regulations", etc. Naturally, decoding of terms is not given, since the text of the document is intended for an audience with the necessary qualifications. The vocabulary is extremely generalized and not specified: not to "come" and not to "come", but to "arrive"; not “car” and not “airplane”, but “vehicle”; not a "city" and not a "village", but a "settlement".

Morphological features of business papers

The morphological features of an official business style include the use of nouns generalizing for some reasons: "developers", "interest holders", "taxpayers", "individuals", and "citizens." The positions and titles in business documents are used only in masculine gender, regardless of the gender of their carrier: “lieutenant Sidorova”, “tax inspector Petrova”, “specialist Ivanova”.

Official documents traditionally use verbal nouns with the “not” particle: “non-payment”, “non-performance”; infinitive constructions: "check", "draw up an act." To more accurately convey the meaning and eliminate discrepancies, complex words with two or more roots are used: "taxpayer", "tenant", "assignee", "legislator".
