Expulsion from the university may be a necessary measure, or it may occur through the fault of the student himself. Whatever the reason, if you still want to continue your studies, there is almost always the opportunity to recover in your chosen faculty, instead of looking for another suitable university and starting all over again.

According to federal law, you can recover without any particular difficulties if no more than 5 years have passed since the deduction and if you were expelled of your own free will. A prerequisite is that the deduction must have a good reason. Good reasons include your state of health, the need to care for a child or a sick relative, military service or a long trip. Then you will be restored to the same course that you left, on a budgetary or commercial basis - depending on whether you studied at your own expense or at the state. If there are not enough budget places for everyone who wants to recover, a special commission selects applicants, the rest will have to conclude an agreement on tuition with the university.

If the reason for the expulsion was not justified (academic failure, missed classes, failure to fulfill the terms of the contract with the university) or you stopped studying on your own without specifying a reason at all, then restoration is possible only on a fee basis. The recovery procedure in this case is determined by the charter of a particular university. Contact the dean of the faculty where you studied, or the university administration, and they will explain in detail what needs to be done and what conditions the university provides. Typically, the student is invited to study in the same course or go to the course below. In any case, you will need to pay off the resulting debt.

To recover, file an application addressed to the rector. You may have to go through an interview with a faculty commission. Do not forget that you, in addition to academic debt, will have to independently master and pass the difference in the curriculum, so the less time elapses between deduction and recovery, the better.
