Start with grammar. Japanese should start learning from the basics, that is, the basic rules. A different approach gives an extremely low efficiency. Kuhn, "Japanese in One Month, " Hiroko Storm, "Modern Japanese Language Course" (a book complete with audio discs), Yu.P. Kireev "Self-taught Japanese language." These manuals combine excellent presentation, clear structure and ease of mastering the language. By combining textbooks, you will achieve better results by mixing several techniques.

Communicate with native speakers. There is nothing better than listening to Japanese speech when studying. Through the Skype program, make friends from Japan, communicate your intention to learn their culture and language, and begin to gradually communicate. At first you will be hard to create sentences and constantly distracted by the translation of incomprehensible words, but over time you will join in colloquial speech and learn the rules for constructing phrases.

Watch films with Russian subtitles without translation. This technique is also aimed at speech penetration. Unclear sentences you can peek at the bottom of the screen, but gradually an exciting plot will allow you to ignore the subtitles and understand speech without clues.

You should not start learning Japanese with hieroglyphs. Such an approach will yield few results, the study will be extremely difficult, and the probability that you will abandon your idea is very high.

Try to learn the syllabic alphabets of hiragana and katakana, they are used by the Japanese together with hieroglyphs. Each contains 46 characters.
