How to learn retelling

A large number of subjects studied in school, involves a large amount of information learned. And not only the practical part, i.e. formed skills. Much attention is paid to the theoretical part. Formulas, rules, information about a wide variety of objects and phenomena need to be remembered firmly and for a long time. With daily preparation for lessons, it is necessary to properly organize the work of retelling the theoretical material. Then it will be possible to retell the text without difficulty.

Read the text carefully. Find out the meaning of all obscure words and phrases.

Establish the relationship of this material with the already studied. If this is difficult to do on your own, seek help.

Divide the text into parts. Highlight the main thing in each part. Establish a connection between them.

Read the first part. Write out the keywords. Try retelling the text using the written words. If you have difficulty retelling, read and retell the first part again.

Complete the tasks of the previous step with each part.

Read the full text, retell it out loud. Having carefully studied all the material, you will achieve its lasting memorization.

With a large amount of material, retelling may take several days. Start work in advance, not the last day

Useful advice

Work on reading techniques. For successful studies in high school, the reading speed should be at least 120 words per minute (reading aloud). Train!
