One way to set the quarter marks is to find the average score (i.e. the arithmetic mean of all marks). Summarize all student grades for a given quarter, and divide the amount received by their total number. As a result, you get a number that will characterize the average score or score for a quarter. A better way to determine the quarter mark is to determine the average score of all tests and separately class and homework. If the average score obtained from the results of control and independent work is higher than the corresponding one for homework and class work, this speaks in favor of increasing the fourth grade of the student, if lower - in favor of lowering.

Take into account the individual characteristics of the child when issuing quarterly ratings. If you know that the student’s oral answers are always much better written due to his personal qualities, the assessment can be slightly increased, focusing on the results of verbal methods of working with him. The opposite situation is also possible: if the child is more successful in writing than in oral work, pay attention to the corresponding marks. At the same time, it is necessary to objectively evaluate the student’s knowledge.
