Coursework is the first scientific work that a student performs independently. It is necessary to reflect all your theoretical knowledge and analytical abilities. In writing a term paper on literature has its own difficulties and subtleties.

Instruction manual

one

The first thing that starts with coursework is choosing a topic. If we talk about literature, then the theme can be the work of some poet or writer, the literary genre, style, literary period (Silver Age, Golden Age, etc.). If you have chosen to study a specific period, then it is better to illustrate its features with a specific example, for example, “The originality of the poetry of the 60s using the example of A. Voznesensky’s work.”

2

Once you have decided on the topic, proceed to draw up a plan for future work. As a rule, term paper consists of two chapters: theoretical and practical. In the first chapter, you analyze the whole theory related to your topic, and in the second, you analyze the phenomenon under study according to some plan. Sometimes it is advisable to highlight another chapter - analytical. It tells about what place the phenomenon you are studying occupies in the modern scientific world, what approaches can be used to study it.

3

Next, you need to write an introduction to the term paper. It needs to justify the relevance of the topic you have chosen, explain your goals and objectives. For example, the goal is to identify the main features of the poetry of the 60s. To achieve this goal, you need to perform the following tasks: to get acquainted with the history of poetry of the 60s, to study the poetic texts of the main representatives of this direction, to identify features characteristic of the work of all authors of the period. You can also indicate in the introduction which writers you relied on in your work.

4

In the course of work, after each chapter and paragraph, draw small intermediate conclusions. When the time comes to write a conclusion, list in it all the conclusions that were made above. In the very last paragraph of your conclusion, summarize all the conclusions you have. All chapters and paragraphs should be related. Coursework should look like a single text. For a bunch of parts, you can use such turns: "From the previous chapter it is clear …", "In this paragraph of his research …", etc. Do not use the pronoun "I" in the work, in the term paper it is customary to write "we" (it means a student and a supervisor).

5

The list of references should be large enough and solid. It can indicate not only the sources that you used when writing the work, but also books that could theoretically be useful to you. The list is arranged in alphabetical order. First come books, then newspapers and magazines, and then links to electronic sources. GOSTs on the design of the list change very often. Before compiling your list of references, consult your supervisor about how to draw up sources.
