How to get a title page for a diploma

Making a title page of a diploma requires a responsible approach. After all, this is the face of your diploma, and design errors can adversely affect the perception of your work as a whole.

Before you start typing the title page text, you need to set some settings. Define the margin sizes: left - 30mm, right - 10mm, and upper and lower - 20mm (in Word 2007, for example, this function can be found in the Page Layout tab, in Word 2003 - in the Page Settings tab). Then select the font Times New Roman, the size of the size is 14. The thesis uses an interval of 1.5 lines, however, when designing the title page, as a rule, a single interval is used.

Now you can print the text of the title page of the diploma. At the very top of the page, in the center, write: "Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation" (without abbreviations). Below, also in the center, is the full name of the institution, on the next line is the name of the faculty, and even lower is the name of the department.

Then make a large indent and indicate the type of work (graduate qualification work of the bachelor, or thesis, or master's thesis). In lower case, write the subject of the work (without the word "subject" and without quotes).

After the indentation closer to the right edge, write with the capital letter "Contractor" and indicate the student's last name and initials, on the next line also write with the capital letter "Academic Supervisor" and then indicate his academic title, degree, last name and initials.

At the very bottom of the page in the center, indicate the city and year in which the work was performed.

Carefully check the text of your cover page and, if everything is in order, print it on one side of A4 white paper.

Some universities impose additional requirements for the design of theses. Be sure to check with your supervisor what requirements exist in your institution.

Useful advice

Although the numbering of the thesis begins with the title page, the page number is not put on it.
